The South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs (SCDVA) announced a retired Army First Sergeant Alvin King as the first South Carolina Veteran of the Year for his service in the community.

First Sergeant King, a 20-year veteran, is the founder of a nonprofit, Range Fore Hope Foundation, which creates an outlet for active-duty service members, combat and disabled Veterans, and their families
